Special Communications, LLC – Gainesville, FL
A different kind of job for a dietitian with good clinical knowledge – working on a large campus that is home to several hundred adults with intellectual disabilities. You’d be part of a team working to keep people living on campus healthy and happy. There are three other RDs in the department. You will really have a chance to get to know, like and interact with people on your assigned homes. The location lends itself to walking around or biking. There are alot of other professionals you can collaborate with…examples of projects run this past year include OT hydration group, diet texture upgrade efforts, menu diversification/use of melt-able foods, restaurant dining textures for those on restricted diets, and more … There is plenty to do and something to grab your interest!
As part of the job, you would be making recommendations to the physicians, write quarterly and annual assessments, monitor meals, snacks, tube feedings, weights, and review lab data. You would attend monthly team meetings on the homes as well as annual meetings for each person and their guardians. RDs work closely with Food Services on menus and use the Computrition computer program to input diet orders.
Excellent pay and benefits, no weekends or holidays. Lots of leave – 7 WEEKS OFF. Paid A.N.D. dues and CEUs, paid licensure, choice of 6 BCBS health insurance plans with company contribution, SIMPLE IRA with company contribution. Contact us for more information!
